Anaplan Hotel Financials Data Flow

Why It Matters: This workflow provides hotel asset management and finance teams with near real-time financial data, enabling them to react quickly to performance changes. The multi-layered validation process ensures the highest level of data quality and confidence before the numbers are used for reporting and decision-making.

How It Works: The high-frequency process kicks off when partner, Aimbridge, uploads a data file to a secure SFTP server. Cherre, automatically ingests and transforms this file every 15 minutes. The data immediately undergoes a series of pre-Anaplan validations; any potential issues are flagged as "soft warnings" on a dedicated dashboard. The data is then published to an Anaplan Data Hub, which feeds both a "Working" model for analysis and a locked "Reporting" model. Data from both models is then brought back into Cherre for a final round of post-Anaplan validations. The last step is a manual review and sign-off by the asset management team.

Key Data & Transformations:

  • Data Sources: Aimbridge SFTP.

  • Key Data: Hotel Financials.

Detailed Transformations:

  • Data Transformation for Anaplan: The raw Aimbridge data is transformed into the specific format required by the Anaplan Data Hub.

  • Pre-Ingestion Validation: A set of validation rules are run against the data before it is sent to Anaplan, with warnings published to a dashboard.

  • Post-Ingestion Validation: After Anaplan processes the data, it is extracted back into Cherre, and a second set of validation rules are run to ensure the data was processed correctly.

  • Manual Gating: The process includes a manual approval step that acts as a gate, preventing un-validated data from being finalized.

End Result: Upon approval, the finalized data is stored in a Snowflake data warehouse and made available for visualization in Tableau. This rigorous process ensures that the data used for financial reporting and analysis is timely, accurate, and fully vetted.
